We are pleased to announce StartUp Gary Small Development Workshop, June 28, 2023.
This Workshop is an in-person event that is open to the public with priority given to Gary, Indiana residents.
Our one-day virtual Workshops on small scale real estate development are all about project formation. We take a big picture view of neighborhood-based development to help attendees analyze what makes a good project, how a building makes money, and how small developers interact with the broader ecosystem of professionals in the built environment. By the end of the Workshop, aspiring developers will feel more prepared to take the first steps on their own project.
Small Development Workshop participants will get an overview of incremental development: the approach, the practice, and its application to common building types and neighborhoods. Faculty will lead a hands-on site planning and pro forma exercise to lay out a building on a site by applying a sample zoning code. Participants will also leave this session with a better understanding of how to handle site challenges.

This in-person Workshop is open to the public and is a prerequisite for the IDA Boot Camp.
